Privacy notice

Who is responsible
The European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO), 21 boulevard Richard Lenoir, 75011 Paris, France, is responsible for the processing of the personal data collected on this site. For any question about your personal data, contact us through the contact form.
Why we process your data
We process your data to manage your candidate account and to handle your applications to EPPO vacancies: assessment by the selection panel, communication with you and, where the vacancy requires it, contact with your referees.
Legal basis
Your explicit consent, given when you create your account and again when you submit each application. You can withdraw it at any time, which will not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out before.
What data
Identity and contact details, country of residence, the documents you upload (CV, cover letter, other document), your answers to the questions of the vacancy and, where requested, the name, institution and e-mail address of your referees.
Contact form
If you write to us through the contact form, we process your name, e-mail address and message, and the subject you chose, only to answer your question. The legal basis is your request: you are asking EPPO to reply. The message is sent by e-mail to the mailbox in charge of the subject (recruitment team, IT or EPPO headquarters) and is not stored on this website; it is kept in those mailboxes. These e-mails are not kept longer than needed to answer you, and in any case no longer than 12 months after your message. To limit abuse, the date, your IP address and the subject category are kept in the technical log of the website for 12 months, and short-lived counters (one hour) limit the number of messages sent from the same IP address or e-mail address. If you are signed in to your candidate account, your browser reads your name and e-mail address from it to fill in the form: this stays on your device until you send the message. Do not use this form to send your application or sensitive information.
Visit statistics
To know how many people read a vacancy, we count the visits to each vacancy page. Only daily totals per vacancy are stored (number of views and of distinct visitors): they contain no personal data. To count distinct visitors, a one-way fingerprint of your IP address and browser, combined with a random value that changes every day, is kept for 24 hours and then discarded; it is never stored in the database and cannot be linked to you or to your candidate account. Visits from robots are ignored. No cookie is used for this.
Who can see it
The EPPO staff in charge of recruitment and the members of the selection panel assigned to the vacancy you apply to.
How long we keep it
The data of your candidate account and of your applications is deleted at the latest 12 months after your last application. An account without any application is deleted 12 months after your last sign-in. You can delete your account, and all the data attached to it, at any time from your profile. The technical log of the site (sign-ins, actions, IP address) is deleted after 12 months.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time. From your candidate space you can already correct your profile, download a copy of your data and delete your account. For any other request, or if you need help, use the contact form and choose "Personal data request": we will answer within one month.
